If you order wine from us you are representing to us that you are at least 21 years of age and that the person to whom it is being shipped is also at least 21 years old. An adult signature will be required by the shipping company upon delivery.

Delivery Requirements for Alcohol
|
|
United Parcel Service (UPS) will attempt to deliver the package three times. If no one is home they will return the package to us and you will be liable for the original shipping charge plus the shipping charge to return it to us. We can not accept any requests to waive adult signature requirements on any package going to a residence or to leave the package at another address, etc. We suggest the best method is to ship to a business where someone will be available to sign during business hours. Alternatively, have the package shipped to a friend or neighbor who you know can be home to sign for the package.

Wine Direct Shipping laws are changing monthly. We attempt to keep up but you are responsible to know the laws of your state. We check every order and may contact you to discuss your options. Wine shipping charges are calculated based on weight and delivery address. Approximate costs are: 1 bottle $8.00, 2 bottles $10.00, 4 bottles $15.00, 6 bottles $18.00, 12 bottles, $36.00

Weather Considerations for Wine Shipments
|
|
Please note that it's your responsibility to know the weather conditions in your area when you order wine to be shipped to you. If it's too hot in your region when you place your order, we'll be happy to hold your wine until conditions are right for you to have it shipped. We offer this service at no additional charge and will hold your order up to 30 Days if you prefer. Your credit card will be charged when the shipment is ready. To notify us of this, simply put a note in the Comments field at checkout or reply to your order email confirmation. If you want your wines immediately, consider using 2-day or 3-day air.

General Merchandise Shipping Policy

We can ship all non-wine merchandise anywhere in the continental USA. If you order contains both wine and other merchandise and you specify a shipping state that does not allow direct shipment of wine, the other merchandise will be shipped and the wine will be deleted from your order. You will receive and email informing you of the change to your order.

Merchandise Shipping Charges
|

Shipping charges for merchandise (not wine) are determined by the total value of your order, the ship to zip code and the shipping method. Certain oversized and heavy items do not apply; in these cases separate shipping charges are indicated in the item description. All shipping is subject to verification. Items ordered together are not necessarily shipped the same day. We will notify you by email of any delay beyond 10 days.

Order Processing Time

Most orders can be processed by the day following your online entry of the order. Orders placed on the weekends will be processed the next business day. We can usually ship your order within 2 to 4 days (not including holidays and weekends).

Delivery Transit Time
|
|
Depending on your location, the shipment will then take an additional 1-5 days in transit. If there will be a delay longer than that, we will let you know immediately via email. Here is how shipping companies compute days. The shipping companies do not count the day we give them the package. They also do not count weekends as shipping days, only weekdays. For example, a package that was picked up on Friday for 2 Day Delivery actually arrives on time on Tuesday, even though it actually took 5 calendar days to reach you. Please take this into consideration while waiting for your delivery. In addition, we usually ask the carrier to send out an email to you that includes the tracking number so you can track the package yourself.

Express Delivery Policy
|
|
The Virginia Wine Market offers 2 Business Day Express Delivery. All express delivery orders for in-stock items must be placed on the web site before 1 pm Eastern Time in order to be processed and shipped the same day. Any orders placed after 1 pm Eastern will be processed the following business day. If any order is placed after 1 pm Eastern Time on a Friday, the order will be processed the following Monday/next business day.

Items with a noted separate shipping charge such as heavy items, wine cellars, and oversized items cannot be shipped using express delivery methods. Any orders that combine items with a separate shipping charge and items that use the shipping chart will be charged the shipping chart fee for only those items and for the selected shipping method (Standard, or 2 Day Air) and the separate shipping fee. The item with the extra shipping fee will not be delivered using the express delivery methods.

Delivery to P.O. and A.P.O and International Addresses
|
|
Items cannot be shipped to P.O. or A.P.O boxes or International addresses. We do ship to Postal Stores like, Mailboxes Etc, The UPS Store and the like.

Delivery to Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico
|
|
Standard UPS delivery shipping rates do not apply to any orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Orders shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico will be shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) and applicable rates will apply.

Wine Cellar Shipping Charges
|
|
Wine cellars and other heavy items receive our White Glove Delivery. With this service, the shipping company will bring the item into your home, unpack it, inspect it and dispose of the packaging. Delivery is by appointment, and you will be called to arrange a day. For most items, the charge for this service is separate from standard delivery charges.
