Going back to the very foundations of the dam itself, we Furrows have poured our hearts into living here at Smith Mountain Lake. From the lakeside Cove vineyard started in 1982 to the present mature vines of the 1992 Hill vineyard, our family has poured our sweat into planting, nuturing and harvesting lake grapes. Two generations of wine craftsmen work together, pouring our souls into making a living out of sun, soil, oak, steel & glass.

Come visit Hickory Hill and get a taste of Smith Mountain Lake. Introduce us to your family. Tour the small winery where each bottle is still hand corked. Shop in the house Edda Scruggs built in 1923 as a wedding present. Picnic under the ash tree and soak up the lake countryside. Stroll the lovingly tended vineyard, the oldest in the area.
